Goran Jerković

1983, born and raised in Cavtat. His academic path and performance are worth noticing – graduating from a Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Manager in Opatija, then obtaining a certificate for the Manager of Travel Agency, followed by a certificate for Pedagogy and Psychology from the University of Zagreb and finally the certificate for the Account Manager at the University of Split. His professional career was mostly linked to hotel industry at different controlling and managerial positions, mostly in hotels in his hometown Cavtat (Iberostar group and Hotel Epidaurus). However, the turning point in his career was definitely the year 2009 when he became a member of Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (professional, humanitarian and nonprofit association specialized for rescue in mountains, rocks and speleological objects). Given his previous academic achievements, Goran quickly finished numerous courses offered by the CMRS. It was not surprise that in 2014 he became the head of Dubrovnik region of Croatian Mountain Rescue Service. He climbed Mulhacen in Sierra Nevada (3848m), Toubkal on Atlas (4167m) during winter conditions, went in many caves up to 500 meters deep, and also hiked many mountains in Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro.Goran is a great example of a young man dedicated to high academic and professional achievements, with an amazing quality of volunteering for the ones, most often, in real dangers.

Zoran Ateljevic

1982, born and raised in Dubrovnik. Zoran’s academic background is twofold, holding a degree from Tourism and Travel Services Management and a degree in Public Relations from the Communication Department of the University of Dubrovnik.

He started his professional development in a leading destination management company in the region, Gulliver Travel. His versatility has put him through different positions such as Corporate Communications, Marketing and Development Specialist and an Adventure Specialist and Product Manager.

In 2003 Zoran became a member of Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (professional, humanitarian and nonprofit association specialized for rescue in mountains, rocks and speleological objects). His background in tourism, which was then booming in the area, along with strong altruism, has led him to found the CMRS section for Dubrovnik region in order to increase the security standards.

Over the years he has been developing his passion through completing various rescue trainings. Zoran thus became a swift water rescue instructor, dog rescue handler, cave rescue instructor assistant and a helicopter rescuer. All of his competencies served him well for eight years as a head of this department. Today, he still continues to selflessly contribute to this humanitarian organization.

Zoran was a part of the expedition in South America, Cordillera Blanca, where he climbed three peeks – Mt Misti (5822), Mt Corpuna (6425) and Mt Chachani (6057) in 2008. He was also a member of cave expedition in Luka’s pit (1431 m) in 2010.

Zoran’s motto seems to be similar to the Olympics – citius, altius, fortius (faster, higher, stronger) as he constantly keeps on pushing the boundaries and setting the bar higher.
